When we helped design and launch the Sunquest Patty brand of Jamaican-style beef patties, our goal was to create a graphic brand identity and retail presence with true stopping power. Sunquest needed a brand and packaging design that could hold its own beside well-known competitors in grocery stores’ frozen snack aisles, while also celebrating Jamaican culture in a fresh, modern way.

We aimed to create a brand identity, logo, social media presence, website and retail food packaging that was clear, fun and impossible to miss.

Where competitors in the same category leaned on flags, nostalgia and cluttered layouts, we designed the retail packaging of Sunquest Patty to cut through with a cleaner, more confident brand story and graphics.

Flavours were instantly recognizable—red for spicy beef, green for mild beef—anchored by a strong Sunquest Patty logotype. Copy delivered trust and clarity, while creative messaging, such as the “Irie-sistible” tagline, created energy on the shelf.

The result is a retail package design that tells the brand story at a glance.

We then extended the brand beyond the retail packaging.

We wrote and designed a social media presence that mirrored the packaging’s bold typography, friendly brand voice and bright fields of colour. Social posts paired appetizing, custom photography with playful copy inspired by the Jamaican roots of the family-owned Canadian manufacturer.

A companion website brought everything together, offering shoppers a simple way to understand the product and connect with the Sunquest Patty brand.

Sunquest Patty isn’t just another retail product—its packaging design, messaging and online presence helped it hit the ground running to claim its place in a competitive category of fast-moving consumer goods.

By striking the right balance between authenticity and modernity, the Sunquest identity offers a flexible platform to grow the brand’s presence in stores, online and in the homes of families across Canada.
